Electric Heating
For heating in my area below it is cheaper to run a pellet stove or two small electric heaters 10 watts?
I live in Massachusetts and my house has electric heating with thermostats in each room. Very expensive to use, so do not turn them on. I do not know if I will use less electricity by running the stove or electric space heating. A 40-pound bag of pellets costs $ 6 and lasts approximately 24 hours. Since it is connected, the stove uses some electricity, but I have no idea how much. If anyone out there is knowledgeable in this subject, I would love your help.
I suspect that its electrical resistance is not 10 watts, but 10 amps. If this is correct, a 10 amp 1200 watt heater will draw or kilowatts 1.2. The electric company measures consumption by how many kilowatts you use in one hour. If your heater has a duration of one hour will cost 12 cents approxamately. The wood stove $ 25 or 6/day cents per hour. His electric heaters will cost 24 cents per hour (assuming that the heaters are actually 1200 watts).
